Let’s stay engaged for a moment as we reflect on two powerful portions of Scripture.
1. The Awareness of Faith – Luke Chapter 8
In Luke 8, we see the story of the woman with the issue of blood.
She is in a crowd.
People are pressing against Jesus from every side—shoulder to shoulder.
Physically, many are touching Him.
But suddenly, something happens.
One woman, by faith, reaches out and touches the hem of His garment.
And Jesus stops.
He asks,
“Who touched Me?”
The disciples are confused—everyone is touching Him.
But Jesus responds:
“Someone touched Me, for I perceived power has gone out from Me.”
A Spiritual Reality
In the natural, many were touching Him.
But in the spirit, only one truly connected.
There was a subtle but powerful difference:
Many had physical contact
One had faith-filled connection
The Impartation
Can you imagine living with that level of spiritual awareness?
To discern what is happening in the spirit
To recognize faith
To perceive God moving even in a crowd
This is the kind of awareness God wants to release in His people today.
There is an impartation available for the Body of Christ—
to become sensitive to the Spirit.
2. When the Word Was Rare – 1 Samuel 3:1
Now look at 1 Samuel 3:1:
“In those days the word of the Lord was rare; there were not many visions.”
During Samuel’s time, God’s voice was not commonly heard.
Samuel’s Assignment
When the Word of the Lord was rare…
Samuel’s calling was to make it common again.
And he did it faithfully.
Your Zone Is Your Assignment
Let me ask you:
Who here is a father or mother? → That is your zone
Who is in business or employment? → That is your zone
Who is in government or leadership? → That is your zone
Who is in media, entertainment, or community influence? → That is your zone
The Reality
In many of our zones today:
The Word of the Lord is rare
But here is the truth:
It is your responsibility to make it common
A Call to Surrender
Right now, there is an invitation:
To lay ourselves down
To become available
To hear His voice again
Like an altar before the Lord.
Prayer
Jesus, right now,
we lay ourselves down as a church body, as a community.
We surrender ourselves to You.
God, open us up to hear Your voice.
Make us aware of the spiritual realm—
aware of what is broken,
aware of what You are doing.
In the name of Jesus Christ:
Let broken hearts be restored
Let broken souls be healed
Let every lie be destroyed
God, we commit ourselves to You.
Teach us to hear Your voice
and to make Your Word common again—
In our homes
In our children’s lives
In our workplaces
In our communities
Lord, wherever You have placed us,
Empower us to speak Your Word boldly.
Final Surrender
God, we lay ourselves down now
as living sacrifices before You.
Let us hear Your voice
and speak Your Word faithfully.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
